Maintaining a Healthy Study-Life Balance
Curated from a survey among our tutors and IB markers, IBT Sydney has creating the best 3 tips for maintaining a strong study-life balance.
Prioritise Self-Care: Creating dedicated time for yourself is highly important for ensuring you do not burn out over the course of the IB. We recommend setting aside defined time intervals for activities such as sport, music, walks, creative pursuits and even gaming. Just make sure you keep doing things that bring you joy and you will find that study time becomes far more efficient and effective.
Plan, Plan, Plan: Breaking down your study into achievable chunks that is carefully planned out can also maximise the effectiveness of your study. The best way to not get overwhelmed by large tasks is to just break them down. This also promotes a great sense of accomplishment as you progress through your study.
Establish Clear Boundaries: Creating boundaries that define study time and break time is really important. This can be just having a dedicated location that you exclusively study or habits such as turning your phone off or studying at specific times of the day. This will help create a healthy separation between the two activities so it fosters the effectiveness of each.
